Dancing with Chinese gymnasts

The hoops, ribbons and ball dances of Angle Poise will be revived next Sunday, 12 February, when we dance at the Chinese New Year celebrations.
Dancing for each other at Paekakariki, swim in the sea, barbecue. Must be Christmas!

Scarlet Heels in Paekakariki, Sunday 27 November

Rachel McAlpine, our most senior Crows Feet dancer, has written a saucy, delightful book 'Scarlet Heels' which is dedicated to the Crows Feet Dance Collective.
On Sunday November 27th at 3pm at St Peters Hall, Paekakariki, nine quaint and sexy stories from 'Scarlet Heels' will be read by Crows Feet director Jan Bolwell, and Paekakariki actors Perry Piercy and Vivien Bell with music by Gilbert Haisman.

Marianne Schultz, a PhD candidate and tutor in the History Department, University of Auckland, will talk about Rona Bailey as a member of the New Dance Group. The New Dance Group played a key role in pioneering modern dance in New Zealand in the 1940s.

So sad to see this lovely old building destroyed in the Christchurch earthquake.
And sadly, this was to have been the venue for our performance in Christchurch on 25 September.
Crows Feet Kapiti
Submitted by Jan Bolwell on Tue, 08/31/2010 - 07:50Crows Feet Kapiti began in May this year, and there are now over twenty women who regularly attend class. They are a fabulous group and great at improvisation. At the moment they are working on a dance called Pink Ribbon to music by the same name by Radha Sahar. They will perform this dance in October at the Coastlands Mall in Paraparaumu as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This will be the group's first public performance.
Crows at Ten: surveying ten years of dancing

On 18 November we surprised our Director Jan Bolwell well and truly. For weeks we'd been working in secret on a show that encapsulated the entire history of Crows Feet Dance Collective.
The Wednesday session began as usual with a workout until 8 pm. But not quite as usual: everyone was early, and we hid props, food and bottles in the green room. And a certain hilarity bubbled just below the surface.
